François Maréchal, in his studio     François MARECHAL, born in Evreux, studies at the Beaux-Arts school in Mans. After that he chooses Spain where he acquires all the techniques of engraving and lithography in Dimitri Papadeorgiu's studio and the techniques of painting with San Fernando's art teachers in Madrid.
A complete artist, he equally feels at ease in xylography and in intaglio engraving, where he masters the burin and etching as much as the dry point. Following the tradition of famous precursors like Dürer, Rembrandt and Goya, François MARECHAL masters the portrait and imaginary scenes as much as the creation of ex-libris.
Making use of all the space, by the magic of  his burin, he drenches our gaze and strikes a chord within us. He leads us into his world where Power allies Poetry.
Appointed in 1991,Academician of San Fernando's Royal Academy in Madrid, François MARECHAL has had individual and collective exhibitions exhibitions in France, the United States, Switzerland, Germany, etc.
His work appears in many French and foreign collections.
In the Editions Carrés d'Art, François MARECHAL illustrated José-Maria de Hérédia's Sonnets.

'Andromeda' (from Heredia's Sonnets)
